Newton County lies only 34 miles east of Atlanta, via Interstate 20, yet surprisingly has remained a rural area even with Rockdale County pushing on the western boundary.  The western part of the county has experienced residential growth over the past 10 years, but to the east of the Alcovy River, significant growth has not occurred.

The links above are a further resource.  The history link will show how growth in Newton County has changed over the years, and should leave you thinking about what comes next.  Politicians, developers, leaders and ordinary people all have an effect on growth and change.  These resources are meant to educate and bring awareness to what is happening right now in our community.

Get involved!  Great things will only happen if each one will step up.  Check out the Community Resources page and see all the opportunities that await.
